Metaril : Diecast
In 1953, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Mercedes 180, from the W120 series, as its first completely new passenger car redesign since the
war. Also known as the “Ponton Mercedes” (the “Ponton Mercedes”), the 180 was a car for the upper middle class and replaced the
pre-war 170V design. The “Ponton” was also the first Mercedes with a self-supporting chassis. The 180 D, introduced in 1954, became
popular all over the world as a reliable taxi and was responsible for making the use of diesel engines in passenger cars popular.
